Northland Foundation
"Created in 1986 by The McKnight Foundation, the Northland Foundation is a regional foundation serving the communities of northeastern Minnesota. Like most foundations, we make grants. However, the Northland Foundation is exceptionally unique by the array of its other core activities, which include a grantmaking program to non-profit organizations, the KIDS Plus program, and a business finance program."

United Way of Northeastern Minnesota
"Since 1966, United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN) has been a volunteer based organization serving the needs of individuals and families on the Iron Range (N St. Louis County and Eastern Itasca County) and Koochiching County. Previously, there were multiple United Way organizations working in small communities competing for dollars from companies that drew employees from numerous towns. The UWNEMN was formed to serve the needs of the entire Northeastern region and create a more cohesive organization."
Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging
"The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) is the designated area agency on aging for the seven county arrowhead region. Area agencies on aging were established under the Older Americans Act (OAA) to respond to the needs of Americans aged 60 and over in every local community. There are over 629 area agencies on aging in the United States and 7 in Minnesota, including the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe Area Agency on Aging. Minnesota area agencies on aging are designated by the Board on Aging to provide three critical functions: OAA funding administration, community planning and service development, and information and assistance."
Packaging Corporation of America ( PCA - Boise)
"Since the founding of Boise-Payette Lumber Company in 1931, Boise has been a proud member of the forest products industry. Under the name Boise Cascade, Boise began manufacturing kraft paper at a brand new mill in Wallula, WA, in 1958. Throughout the following decades, Boise Cascade built and acquired additional paper mills including our current mills in International Falls, MN, and Jackson, AL. In 2008, Boise Cascade sold the Paper division to an investment firm, which resulted in the formation of Boise Inc. Our parent company, Packaging Corporation of America, acquired Boise Inc.’s paper and packaging assets in 2013."
North Star Electric Co-operative
"North Star is a cooperative that was formed in 1940 for the sole purpose of providing electricity to the rural areas in north central Minnesota–areas that no power company would serve. Today this cooperative serves about 6400 accounts. This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer. North Star is controlled by those it serves–the members purchasing electricity from the cooperative."
Koochiching County Government
"Our history-rich county lies at the top of the map of Minnesota, its northern border forming the boundary between the U.S. and Canada. It is next to the largest of the 87 counties, exceeded only by St. Louis county. Koochiching is also next to the youngest in the state, having been created in 1906 after its residents voted to separate from Itasca county. (Lake of the Woods county was formed in 1922)."
